The problem

Decades of pollution from industry and agriculture have destroyed our drinking water. Drinking water wells in Denmark are shut down again and again, and water utilities blend contaminated water with cleaner water to stay under the limit values and still meet demand. The substances are not removed – they are diluted.

Danish water utilities are required to monitor the limit value for 73 substances. However, we know of more than 4,700 PFAS substances and 590 pesticides used in Denmark.

At least 56.8% of Danish wells contain pesticide residues, and at least 18% contain PFAS. Only a fraction of the substances that actually exist are tested for – and if just ten more pesticides were tested for, the figure rises markedly, with exceedances of the limit values rising to more than a quarter, pointing to a significant hidden problem. We only find what we look for – not what we don't look for.

The substances are linked to cancer, infertility, and organ damage. WHO generally identifies contaminated drinking water as one of the greatest global health risks, and globally, at least 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.

Like most of the rest of the world, Denmark will have to distinguish between utility water and drinking water. Until then, it is the body that acts as the filter.

About Us

Eternal-Water is a Danish water technology startup developing innovative and sustainable solutions, making clean and safe drinking water more accessible for households.

Mission
Provide safe, affordable, and sustainable drinking water worldwide.

Our patented, reusable, and modular filter technology is designed to remove modern contaminants, such as PFAS, pesticides, microplastics, and other chemicals, as well as old contaminants, such as bacteria and viruses, and other unwanted substances from drinking water, while maintaining high performance (full flow), sustainability, and low operating costs, keeping it affordable for everyone.

Access to clean drinking water is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. That is why we are working to develop the water purification solutions of the future, combining effective filtration, responsible resource use, and user-friendly design.

Eternal-Water is currently part of the Innofounder program and is approaching its pilot phase, where the technology will be tested and validated in practice as the next step toward commercialization.

Vision
Solve global water challenges through innovative and sustainable water purification.

The Solution

Eternal-Water is a modular filtration system, installed on the cold water line – either under the sink or where water enters the house. The system removes particles, microorganisms, and chemical substances such as PFAS and pesticides in a single unit.

Water is delivered at full flow through the house's existing tap – no extra faucet, no renovation required. Filtration works purely mechanically, with no power and no added chemicals.

The modular design means the system can be adapted to both the specific water source and the substances that need to be removed – from municipal supply to a private well, with the option to adjust the filtration for specific purposes, such as reducing water hardness. When a filter is used up, only that part is replaced or regenerated – not the entire system.
